An Arrogant and Dominating Wife’s Transformation

By Chen Jing, Italy

I wore the pants in family, so I couldn’t get on well with my husband.

When I was young, I was spoiled by my parents and my brothers and sisters also indulged me very much. I neither did any hard work in my family nor suffered any injustice. Growing up in such an environment, I became insolent, willful, and self-righteous. I was self-centered in doing everything and refused to accept others’ different ideas. It was as if my whole body were covered in thorns that no one could blame or touch me.
My husband was gentle. After marriage, he indulged me very much and I wore the trousers in our family. So, my words were just like imperial edicts. As long as I dictated something to him, he must do as I told him and didn’t dare to argue with me; if he dared to have another idea, I would keep arguing with him until he made a compromise.

A Letter to My Mother: God’s Words Lead Me to Grow up After You Left Home for Avoiding the CCP’s Arrest

By Xiaoyan
Dear mom,
How is everything going? Have you been busy lately? We haven’t seen each other for a long time. You must have gained a lot through experiencing God’s work, am I right? How I wish I could meet you and listen to your experiences. My father always comforts me, saying that you will be back soon. Nevertheless, I miss you very much.
I put your photo between the pages of my book which I took of you on the day of my High School Entrance Examination. Whenever missing you, I’ll take it out, and watch you smiling at me with your hand in a scissor gesture like a child. Mom, looking at your picture, I’ll miss you, miss your dishes, miss your hugs, and miss your chatters…. But because of the persecution and arrest of CCP, you had to leave my father and me.

The Word of God “The Authority of the Creator Is Immutable and Unoffendable”

Almighty God,The Church of Almighty God,Eastern Lightning
What have you seen in these three parts of scripture? Have you seen that there is a principle by which God exerts His authority? For example, God used a rainbow to establish a covenant with man, in which He placed a rainbow in the clouds in order to tell man that He would never again use a flood to destroy the world. Is the rainbow people see today still the same one that was spoken from the mouth of God? Has its nature and meaning changed? Without a doubt, it has not.

Only Living by God’s Word Can Allow Us to Gain True Freedom

By Xin Ling
I remember the Italian poet Dante once said, “The human race finds itself in a better situation when it has the highest level of freedom.” It can be seen from this that people all desire freedom, and treat it as the highest pursuit in life. However, when speaking of freedom, every person has a different understanding.
Some people think: “As long as I have money, I can lead a carefree, self-indulgent, and golden life rather than looking to others all my life. And that’s freedom.” Some people think: “Once I possess status and power, I can make others revere and admire me, I can issue orders and have everyone at my beck and call, and I’ll be under no one’s control. This is true freedom.” Others think: “It is too oppressive living in the modern world full of tall concrete buildings. If I can get away from the shackles of this material world and live a rural life like Tao Yuanming, the ancient Chinese poet, then that would be true freedom.” And others think: “People living in the democracies ruled according to law all have freedom of speech and so they have freedom.” However, as Christians, what do we understand freedom to mean? Perhaps, many brothers and sisters would say: “The Lord Jesus has redeemed us from sin, and by His grace and protection, our sins have been forgiven. This is our understanding of freedom.” Nevertheless, are our interpretations of freedom what true freedom refers to?

I Found the Way to Be Free From Sin and Enter the Kingdom of God

By Aixi, Malaysia
When I was 12, I began believing in the Lord Jesus and became a Christian. After I began believing, I actively and persistently participated in Sunday worship and Bible study groups. At Bible study meetings, we often discussed 2 Timothy 4:7–8, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: From now on there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness.” We thought that, as Christians, we should imitate Paul and strive to run around and do works, because the Lord would bestow crowns of righteousness upon us. Our pastor also often encouraged us by saying the kingdom of heaven is entered through effort, and as long as we make efforts to pursue and diligently do the Lord’s work, when the Lord returns, He would rapture us up to the kingdom of heaven. These teachings became the cornerstone of my belief in God, and I swore to myself that I would do all in my power to participate in church service work so that I could accrue enough “value” to satisfy God, so that when He came, I could be raptured up into the kingdom of heaven.

Why There Are Different Christian Denominations?

By Zhou Tao

My Confusion

Several years ago, I was often out on business. At all of my stops, I would seek a meeting place on weekends, off my own bat, to share the Lord’s words and pray. But after some of the meetings, the church leaders would ask me, “Brother Zhou, which denomination do you belong to? What are the doctrines of your church?” I was always taken aback and would reply, “I believe in the Lord Jesus, and I don’t belong to any denomination. We all are family in Christ.” But they would answer, “Now there are many churches, but only our church is the true one, only our church encompasses all the others.” Later, what baffled me even more was that when I returned to my hometown church my church friends asked me what doctrines I’d heard in other churches. We got into quarrels over different understandings of Bible verses, and could never reach an agreement. Our meetings often ended bitterly. Many years passed, and no matter where I went, what impressed me was the multitude of denominations and how they were all critical of each other. Seeing this, I thought of the words in the Bible, “One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all” (Eph 4:5–6). We all believe in the Lord, read the Bible and the words of the Lord; why are there so many Christian denominations? What is the root of this? Which one is in line with the Lord’s will? Full of confusion and puzzlement, I eagerly wanted to find the answers.
